“Selbstbetrachtung” is an urban video hacking project using existing public infrastructure to create a Video. I try to give the surveillance camera a whole new view on the world, open new perspectives by giving it a vice versa view.
It is the surveillance of the surveillance.
LICHTRAUM – an urban showcase
A small box with a hole in it´s front that is closed by a magnifying glass was installed in public space in berlin kreuzberg at the bank of the landwehrkanal. In the center of the box are 4 modiefied slides that are backlit by LEDs. the box got stolen after 7 days

today a went jogging and found this …
a card said: “teuer schenke ich den Kreuzbergern als kritik”
you could translate it like:
“expensive is what i criticize the kreuzbergers for”
further on it said:

i was confused!! why is teuer something you criticize the kreuzbergers for?? they are the first to suffer from high prices in their district! something had to be done! and i did …
i changed teuer = expensive to euer = your and left a little message to the kreuzbergers:
euer bezirk ist es = it is your destrict
and Max, don´t worry you “t” is still there
